USEFUL ADVICE

I rode Bordeaux - Paris as a cyclotourist in 1998 when it was a very hot weekend. This was my schedule for that year when the finish was in CLAYES-sous-BOIS.
      1) I divided the route into three stages:
            a)Stage 1
km 0 Bordeaux start 06.00 hours
km 140 lunch at Ruelle sur Touve
km 255 diner and accommodation at Lussac-les-Châteaux
            b) Stage 2
km 276 breakfast (complimentary) at Chauvigny
km 375 lunch at St. Aignan
km 481 diner and accommodation at La Source (Orléans)
            c) Stage 3
km 528 breakfast (complimentary) at Autray sur Juine
km 639 arrive at Clayes sous Bois at 13.00 hours for lunch.

       2) To prepare for this marathon of the route will entail at least 3000 km. of riding, including several 200 / 250 km. brevets and a 300 km. ride to verify your lighting.

      3) Recommendations
      - The wearing of a helmet is strongly advised.
      - For night riding, a fluorescent shoulder belt and halogen lighting either with batteries or dynamo is recommended.
